Music City Stars named #1 team in the American Basketball Association League
Nashville, TN (January 4, 2010)--The Music City Stars, Nashville’s only professional basketball team, are shining bright as they were recently ranked the #1 team in the American Basketball Association (ABA) league. With an early loss this season to the Southeast Texas Mavericks the Stars will have a home court advantage as they go toe to toe at Lipscomb’s Allen Arena Thursday January 7th. The game will tip off at 7pm.
With a 6-1 record and 128 point game average the team has proven owner Anthony Chase’s earlier sentiments that “the Stars are the best team in the league”. The leading point scorers are Odell Bradley, shooting guard, and Desmond Cambridge averaging 21 and 19 points (respectively) per game. Their impressive lead into the first half of the season is a strong indication of the likelihood of a Playoff debut for the first year team.
The Power Ranking weekend will also include the January 8th game against the Mississippi Blues and the team anticipates another win against the Georgia Prowl on January 10th. The Stars met the Prowl previously in the season for a 136 to 72 victory. All games will be at held at 7pm in Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena.
