Kid Electric Concerts and the Haitian Environmental Support Program will host the cover concert Friday February 19 at 2nd Avenue Live
Nashville, TN (February 8, 2010)—Sing. Dance. Reggae. Friday February 19th, Kid Electric Concerts goes Rasta for Haiti during the One Love for Haiti: Bob Marley Tribute. The benefit concert will support Haitian Environmental Support Program (HESP), a non-profit organization who provides monetary funds for food, clothing, and educational opportunities for the children of Haiti. The concert will take place at 2nd Ave. Live (154 2nd Ave. North), doors open at 8pm and the show will begin at 9:30PM. Hosted by Descendants of Reality, the line-up includes Joey Richey, Lisa Kimmey, Sharon Koltick of Kinkador, Darnell Levine, and many more.
The concert will cover some of Bob Marley’s greatest hits. “Kid Electric Concerts has been so moved by the strength and resilience of the people of Haiti. We not only want to contribute to the recovery of their nation but we want to celebrate it as well. This is going to be a celebration of hope.” excitedly shares Creative Director and KEC Founder, Toya Haynes.
Kid Electric Concerts is an organization that presents events such as these to raise funds and awareness for local non-profit and community based organizations who aim to change not only our great city but the world. “We celebrate these organizations by putting on creatively themed benefit concerts that showcase Nashville's best artists and pay tribute to great and timeless music. It is our hope and passion that these concerts motivate our community to get out there and "do something,” says Haynes. The KEC alum of organizations includes The Boys and Girls Club, The Oasis Worship Centre and The Magdalene House.
Collectively, Kid Electric Concerts, The Lovenoise Group, Music City Unsigned, and The MEPR Agency have come together to spread the word and contribute to the restoration of Haiti through HESP.
The 18+ show will kick off at 9:30pm and all proceeds will be contributed to HESP to continue their efforts in Haiti. Attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets early, which are $10 and available at www.ticketweb.com.
