Nashville, TN (June 2, 2010) —This past weekend, Sexy for the Cure brought out the sexiest women (and men), all for a charitable cause. The three-pronged event was focused on bringing awareness to Breast Cancer, celebrating the survival of eight breast cancer survivors, while simultaneously bringing the Big Apple to Nashville with the highly anticipated Sex and the City sequel. Benefiting Women Rock for the Cure, the event gave a unique spin to raising funds.

The day began early for six (of the eight) Breast Cancer survivors as their journey started with hair and make-up services provided by Eye Candy Salon. The “I Am Sexy” contest winners, sponsored by Her Nashville, were treated to celebrity-status as they received exclusive treatment from the savvy salon. Ranging from 25-55, these women were nominated by family, friends and colleagues because of their strength and courage through their bout with the painstaking disease. Dawn, Teri, Jade, Dawne, Tracy, and Dorcas, served as the evening’s ambassadors and shared with onlookers that you can maintain your sexiness while having Breast Cancer. The evening carried on as hundreds of women painted the Green Hills area with shades of pink, white, and of course, little black dresses, as they gathered for the ultimate ‘Girls Night Out’. The sexy occasion began with the ultra chic pre-party at Yolo’s Restaurant and Bar. The evening’s landscape was laid as attendees gathered to mingle, drink and dine while photographers captured paparazzi-like flicks.

Before the movie’s premiere, the pink carpet was rolled out in the Green Hills Regal Cinema welcoming Sex and the City fans to flaunt their ensembles for the cameras. With trends by Tarjay (Target) and Maxx (TJ Maxx), the sophisticatedly common and fashion-forward Nashville woman had the opportunity to walk the carpet, be photographed, and interviewed with local media outlets like Nashville Pix, the Tennessean, Metromix, News Channel 5, and Fox 17, to name a few.

Following the movie, the guests were invited to attend the plush after-party hosted at Crow’s Nest. With character-themed drinks such as the “Carrie my Away”, provided by Skyy Vodka and Vitamin Water, the Vitamin Water VIP lounge, Patricia Fields designed stirrers, and the luxury “swag bags” by FabuLuxe, guests enjoyed the sexiest party of the year. Other highlights for the evening was the Skyy Vodka Sex and the City specialty swag, the dessert bar with treats from the Pink Cupcake, brownies and ganache by Chef Dan, and the vegan delicacies of Sin-Less sweets.

Sexy for the Cure was produced by Social Butterfly PR & Events, The MEPR Agency, and KCW Events to benefit Women Rock for the Cure, a local non-profit that bridges the gap between Susan G. Komen and the entertainment community. Sponsors for Sexy for the Cure included: Jive Printing, Her Nashville, Nashville Scene, Yolo’s Restaurant and Bar, Crow’s Nest Restaurant, FILM 615, Glaceau Vitamin Water, Marlo Ross Designs, Skyy Vodka, and One Hope Wines.
